Sanford offers Health Career Exploration for students through a variety of activities:
- Sanford’s Virtual Healthcare Academy Series:
Sanford’s Virtual Healthcare Career Exploration is offered in partnership with the SD Dept of Rural Health and provides an opportunity for students to experience a wide variety of health careers. Through DDN, high school students can access health career programming without leaving their classrooms! High school classes may sign up to watch live or may check out a DVD of the session.
- Elementary School Visits:

- High School Educational Tours:
9-12 grade students speak with healthcare professionals on site as they visit a number of departments at Sanford. All visitors sign HIPAA and Confidentiality agreements. For more information contact Kelly Tollefson by phone (605-333-6303) or by email.
- Sanford Scrubs Club:
Free health career exploration for grades 9-12. School year club meets once a month, September through April. Summer club consists of 3 consecutive days in June. Admittance by application.
